Most leading causes of death in the modern world are related to blood vessel pathology. The field of cardiovascular medicine and surgery (angiology) is the field that deals with preventing, diagnosing, and treating vascular and blood vessel related diseases.
With an increased burden of vascular disease in our aging population, the ongoing convergence of physicians with interest in cardiovascular medicine and surgery is paramount.
In order for critical advancements to take place in our specialty, the continued quest for knowledge in both research and education is of the utmost importance.
The International College of Angiology and its renowned international leadership, is embarking on an international initiative - The ICA Research and Education Foundation. This combined international effort will reach out to our membership at-large, as well as our scientific and corporate community, to generate the essential resources needed to facilitate research and education.
The ICA Research and Education Foundation is the charitable foundation of the International College of Angiology (ICA). The Foundation’s mission is to improve cardiovascular care by research and education.
Mission Statement
This Foundation is committed to advancement of research and development of socioeconomic issues, and is dedicated to establishing educational programs appropriate to practicing physicians and surgeons. The Endowment Research and Education Foundation of the College will proactively seek support for education, basic and clinical research, and explore key areas to generate vital resources to provide a forum for education, leading the practioner into the future of an ever evolving field of cardiovascular diseases. The ultimate goal of the College is to improve healthcare delivery through various avenues of dissemination of knowledge.
