The 49th Annual World Congress ● ICA’2007 will once again provide a forum for the worldwide exchange of ideas, research, and approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular and vascular diseases. Our Congress will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
In compliance with criteria for joint sponsorship by the Medical Society of the State of New York for CME credits, and the guidelines established by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians, the College must receive all funds for corporate support of a lecturer(s). Industry sponsors may provide a grant directly to the conference sponsor to reduce the conference costs. Educational grants may be provided to our Annual World Congress which is dedicated to promoting objective scientific and educational activities. The International College of Angiology will have the responsibility for planning and development of its programs and is responsible for and controls the selection of program content, faculty, educational methods and materials. Reimbursement to faculty will be made after the pro-rata cost for the lecturer/workshop has been paid to the College.
Supporting the Presentation of a Renown Speaker:
(USD) $2,500 per speaker plus speaker’s expenses
The Scientific Committee proposes that commercial institutions sponsor one or more individual oral presentations to discuss a particular area of current interest.
The sponsorship would be made in the form of an educational or technical contribution to the International College of Angiology for continuing medical education purposes. This contribution would not include hotel accommodations, travel expenses, airfare, airport transfers, meals, and honorarium of the invited guest lecturer(s), which are to be paid by the supporting company. Payment must be made to the College for these expenses, and is due in advance of the actual dates of our Congress. Reimbursement will be made to the speaker by the College upon the presentation of an itemized statement and proof of expenditure.
Half-Day Specialty Workshops:
(USD) $2,500 per speaker in the workshop plus speaker’s expenses
Each workshop is planned to provide an integral teaching program and frame of reference. Generally, we have a group of four (4) to six (6) oral presentations of approximately twenty (20) minutes in length to develop the objectives of a selected topic for presentation. The subject matter for a half-day workshop is usually on a particular topic or area of current interest. It is important that the selected workshop be held as an integral part of the overall scientific program.
All participants of a workshop are required to pay a registration fee. This fee must be included in the projected budget for the workshop. Funds from a corporate institution for sponsoring a lecturer’s registration fee, hotel and/or travel expenses must be paid directly to the International College of Angiology and not to the faculty member. The cost for a half-day workshop follows the same guideline as that of support of an individual oral presentation.
Young Investigator Award Scholarship:
(USD) $5,000 Minimum Contribution
A Young Investigator Award is presented at the Annual World Congress of the International College of Angiology. Awards for basic and clinical research (medical and surgical) will be presented to promising young investigators in the field of cardiovascular disciplines. (The minimum contribution for this award is $5,000).
The award is restricted to junior investigators holding an academic rank no higher than Assistant Professor or its equivalent. The competition's purpose is to encourage young physicians, research fellows and trainees to engage in high quality research for the basis for future achievement in the pathophysiology of disease, diagnosis and treatment. The ICA will have the ultimate responsibility for the selection of the awardee(s). The Award will be given under the name of the corporate sponsor at the Annual World Congress.
Educational Schloarships/Travel Awards:
These awards provide trainees (medical students, residents, or fellows) in cardiovascular medicine and surgery with the funding to attend the College’s CME programs. Funding covers registration fees, travel costs and hotel costs. Selection of participants for these funds is made by their academic institutions or by the Society.
Support in Printing the Final Scientific Program and Program Syllabus: (USD) $7,000
Support for printing scientific program and program syllabus would greatly defray the costs in preparing for our Annual World Congress. Acknowledgement for support of such will be printed scientific program of our Congress, and a complimentary full page or half page advertisement would be reserved for a product of your choice. Additional advertisements may be placed in the final program. The cost of a full-page black and white advertisement in either the preliminary or final scientific program is (US) $1,000; and a half-page black and white advertisement is (US) $750. Payment for this support is due in advance of the actual congress dates. Color advertisements are accepted and must be addressed on an individual basis as to the cost.
